Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has called for immediate measures for conservation of water in the country.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Monday evening, he said it is our individual and collective responsibility to utilize our resources efficiently.

The Minister said climate change and rapidly declining underground water reserves may create drought like conditions in Pakistan.

He underscored the need for creating awareness among the people and devising a comprehensive strategy to address the challenge.
