Tariq Mehmood Ghouri, Information Secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party Human Rights Cell, has issued a strong condemnation of recent police violence focused at members of human rights organizations. In his statement, he expressed deep sorrow over this painful incident.

“This is a heartbreaking and sad incidence,” Ghouri stated, stressing the need for accountability. He much-admired Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Ms. Bakhtawar Bibi, and Sindh Chief Mr. Minister Murad Ali Shah for their immediate and significant action against the policemen involved. “The disciplinary measures taken are well-intentioned and set a rare example in our country’s recent history,” he added. Ghouri stated confidence that strong action will be taken against those responsible, including any individuals who may have inscribed the incident from behind the scenes.

In addition, Ghouri denounced the tragic incident involving the rape of a female student at a private college in Lahore.

Those protesting against this sad incident strongly condemn the administration’s violence against the students.

“We demand the establishment of a high-level government commission to investigate the elements involved in this incident, ensuring that justice is served and that measures are implemented to prevent such unfortunate actions in the future,” he asserted.

The Pakistan People’s Party Human Rights Cell remains committed to protecting human rights and advocating for justice in Pakistan.
