The death toll from a bomb blast near the Girls High School at Civil Hospital Chowk in Mastung district, Balochistan, has risen to eight, including a policeman and five children. Initially, four people were reported dead at the time of the explosion, but four additional victims succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Currently, 35 individuals are seriously injured and receiving medical care. The blast also damaged several vehicles and rickshaws in the vicinity, with the explosion’s sound reverberating through nearby areas. Police and rescue personnel have promptly arrived at the scene.

The Balochistan government has condemned the bombing and has requested a report from the provincial home department regarding the incident.

Provincial government spokesman Shahid Rind stated that the district administration, bomb disposal squad, and security forces are actively assessing the situation. Investigations are underway to determine the nature of the explosion, and evidence is being collected from the site. An emergency has been declared in local hospitals, and medical staff have been summoned to assist with the influx of casualties.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti also condemned the attack, offering condolences to the families of the deceased, including the martyred policeman and the children.

In his statement, Chief Minister Bugti noted that terrorists have now targeted innocent children alongside laborers, asserting that those responsible will be held accountable for their actions. He urged local residents in urban areas to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, emphasizing that combating terrorism requires a collective effort from the community.
