The government launched today (Thursday) Kamyab Jawan Green Youth Movement (GYM) under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program “Green and Clean, Pakistan”.

Planning Minister Asad Umar, Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar, Special Assistant on Climate Change and Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul inaugurated the program in an event in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Program will be supported by British Council under its Pakistan Youth Leadership Initiative program. 

Under this initiative, program will be executed through 137 public universities and Green Youth Movement Clubs. Green Clubs will be developed in all public sectors Higher Education Institutions engaging 2.5 million youth.

Addressing the event, the Planning Minister said that the government under the leadership of Imran Khan has taken several commendable initiatives to tackle the issue of climate change as Pakistan falls on the list of ten climate-hit affected countries. He said three dams are being constructed to meet the water crises and climate issue.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said Prime Minister Imran Khan is the hope of Pakistan’s youth who will overcome no-confidence move.  He said opposition will not succeed in its conspiracies. He said PTI will hold an historic public gathering at D-Chowk on 27th of this month.  He said the future of our youth can never be handed over to corrupt people. 

Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar, in his remarks said that under Kamyab Jawan Program 42 billion rupees have so far been disbursed among youth under different initiatives while 25000 businesses have been established. He said under GYM, over 65000 jobs will be created transparently.

Special Assistant on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said that due to prudent climate-base policies, Pakistan has become Green Champion.

Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul said that Imran Khan is center of attentions of the youth due to his youth-based initiatives. She said the PTI-led government has put the country on the development path.
