Pakistan and Japan have reiterated the resolve to enhance their bilateral relationship and mutual cooperation for promotion of international peace and security.          

The resolve was expressed during meeting between Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Honda Taro in Islamabad on Wednesday.       

Matters of bilateral, regional and international importance were discussed during the meeting.

Hina Rabbani Khar emphasized the need for exploring further avenues to deepen the Pakistan-Japan relationship in all spheres.                     

She underscored that Pakistan attached high importance to its political and economic relationship with Japan.

Underlining that Pakistan views Japan as a trusted development partner, the Minister of State shared Pakistan’s perspective on its relations with neighboring countries.

Hina Rabbani Khar highlighted Pakistan’s efforts for the establishment of sustainable peace and stability in the region.        

She also underscored the importance of peaceful resolution of outstanding disputes in accordance with international laws and relevant UN Security Council Resolutions.
