Government has distributed an amount of over twenty-four billion rupees among 965,248 flood-affected families across the country under Benazir Income Support Programme.
According to a press release, twenty-five thousand rupees are being distributed in each flood-hit family.
In Sindh, over fourteen point four billion rupees were distributed in 576,682 families, over three billion rupees were given away among 120,215 families of Baluchistan, over two point nine billion rupees were distributed in 118,940 flood affected families of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while three point seven billion rupees were distributed among 149,413 food-hit families of Punjab.
A control room has been established at headquarters of Benazir Income Support Programme to ensure transparency of distribution process.
