Exports from the country have witnessed an increase of 40.53 percent during the first two months of current fiscal year as compared to the corresponding month of last year.
According to data by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the exports during July-August this year were recorded at 1,043,046 million rupees as against the exports of 742,226 million rupees in July-August last year. The main export commodities during last month were knitwear, readymade garments, cotton cloth, rice other than Basmati worth 22,569 million rupees, petroleum crude 12,056 million rupees and rice Basmati 9,179 million rupees.
