NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL), Etisalcom and Pentagram Tech of the Kingdom of Bahrain signed an MoU today at NADRA Headquarters Islamabad. The MoU will give NTL an opportunity to formally establish a mutually beneficial relationship with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region in the area of e-governance in the spirit of digital cooperation.

Earlier, a delegation from Etisalcom and Pentagram Tech visited Chairman NADRA at his office. The delegation is led by Ambassador of Bahrain Ebrahim Mohamed Abdulqader comprised Rashed Abdulla Al-Snan, CEO of Etisalcom Bahrain and Badar Shahzad, CEO of Pentagram Tech. On their week-long visit, NADRA will present Pakistan’s e-government solution based on digital identification and showcase its infrastructure for service delivery.

Chairman Tariq Malik provided the delegation with an overview of NADRA’s different operations, including its accomplishment in reaching nationwide ID registration coverage throughout Pakistan and the use of National ID data to assist government and private sector projects. To fully comprehend NADRA-NTL’s role as a pioneer in identity management in Pakistan, the group was also given a comprehensive briefing on smart card production, networks and operational command center. Various e-governance initiatives were discussed including Etisalcom and Pentagram Tech’s areas of expertise in Telecom, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Modern Architecture, Cloud Technologies and DevOps.

Mr Malik asserted that NADRA’s initiatives had elevated Pakistan to a position of prominence in the field of digital IDs and related services. He said, “It is a matter of prestige if you use NADRA’s expertise in order to help people of country in transition to a digital economy.’’

The GCC member states can benefit from NADRA-NTL’s experience in identity management. Bahrain and Pakistan are members of Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), and both have agreed to work together in rolling out digital public goods for improved service delivery. It is important to note that NADRA Technologies Limited, in the spirit of South-South Cooperation, is assisting developing nations such as Nigeria, Kenya, Fiji, Somalia, and Sudan with e-government initiatives.
