As per orders of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission of Pakistan has issued election schedule for general elections of the Punjab Assembly under which polling will be held on 14th of the next month.
According to an ECP notification issued on Wednesday, the last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officers for rejecting or accepting the nomination papers is 10th of this month.
However, the last date for the withdrawal of candidature and publication of revised list of candidates is 19th of this month, while election symbols will be allotted to contesting candidates on 20th of this month.
It is pertinent to mention that the commission has recalled its notification issued on 22nd of the last month regarding the withdrawal of election schedule issued on 8th of the last month.
