Pakistan will present its climate investment portfolio at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Investment Fair 2023 in New York today to boost financing for development projects.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Finance Tariq Bajwa will deliver the keynote address via video link from Islamabad.

The Fair provides a dynamic platform to public and private sectors to discuss specific investment opportunities and regulations that support closing the SDG investment gap.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, will also present the Pakistan SDG Investor Map, which identifies investable solutions against the needs of the country.

The projects include adapting to climate change, low-cost housing construction and microfinance and the financial services to low-income individuals.

Pakistan’s 2022 monsoon season produced significant rainfall, devastating floods and landslides, displacing millions of people and killing over 1,700 people.
