The safe evacuation of Pakistani citizens from conflict-hit Sudan is continuing and the first convoy of 500 Pakistanis has left Khartoum and reached the Port of Sudan.

According to the Foreign Office, these Pakistanis will go to Jeddah by sea from where they will be brought home through Pakistan International Airlines and Pakistan Air Force planes.

Arrangements for temporary residence and food have been made on the instructions of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Besides, an emergency helpline has been established at Pakistan’s embassy in Sudan. Officials of the Pakistani embassy are in constant contact with the besieged Pakistanis.

The Foreign Minister has instructed the authorities concerned to ensure the speedy and safe evacuation of Pakistan citizens from Sudan. He also activated the Crisis Management Cell at the Foreign Office to facilitate the safe evacuation of Pakistanis.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is taking daily briefing on the safe repatriation of Pakistanis stranded in Sudan.

He paid tribute to those who participated in the operation to make the evacuation of Pakistani nationals from Sudan possible.

It is pertinent to mention that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari became active even during the Eid holidays on the issue of the safe and early evacuation of Pakistani expatriates from Sudan.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also in contact with his Saudi counterpart regarding the safe evacuation of Pakistanis from Sudan.

 He expressed his gratitude to Turkiye and Egypt for their help regarding the safe evacuation of Pakistanis from Sudan.
