In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people held a protest demonstration, the fifth one in one week, in Srinagar on Sunday, against the anti-people policies of the occupation regime including the attempts to cripple the Kashmiri people, economically.
Protesters including men, women and children blocked the bridge leading to SMHS hospital near Nawab Bazaar in the city. The traffic remained suspended for hours due to the protest in the area.
In Jammu, police arrested several Peoples Democratic Party workers shortly after they tried to take out a protest outside party headquarters in Jammu against the Modi regime’s move to settle outsiders in the occupied territory.
The PDP activists chanted slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party government.
Meanwhile, Vice President of National Conference, Omar Abdullah talking to media persons in Ramban district said that the Kashmiri politicians have grown accustomed to curbs put on their movement post-August 2019.
He said restrictions on their movement is a regular feature in Kashmir after removal of Article 370.
The National Conference leader pinned hopes on the Indian Supreme Court which is going to hear a bunch of petitions challenging Article 370 abrogation from next month.
On the other hand, Member of the British Parliament and Shadow Minister for Justice Afzal Khan speaking at a luncheon in Manchester, the UK, said that the Kashmir dispute can only be resolved through implementation of the United Nations resolutions.
He said the whole world has become aware of the atrocities and serious violations of human rights being committed by Indian troops in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
