Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has reiterated government’s commitment to make a viable plan to reduce the volume of losses of State Owned Enterprises and make them profitable entities.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today, she further asked relevant authorities to present the details of the profit and loss of State Owned Enterprises after 2020.
Sharing the details of the profitable companies, she said three hundred thirty billion rupees have been earned by some of the SOEs and most of them were the oil and gas companies, which earned about 185 billion rupees.
The Minister said Ministry of Finance will provide all possible assistance to streamline functioning of these entities.
She said the government is taking different steps to revive economy and extending cooperation to the loss making entities is one of such measures.
