Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar says Pakistan has been a strong voice and a proactive advocate for climate finance for developing countries.

In an interview with Sky News Arabia on Sunday, the Prime Minister said loss and damage fund was advocated by Pakistan in COP27 to assist the developing countries in facing the climate challenges in terms of mitigation and risk reduction.

He said operationalization of Loss and Damage Fund by announcement of 30 billion dollars by the UAE is a good start in the right direction.

Talking about the Israeli aggression, he said senseless violence perpetrated by Israel should immediately be stopped. He said it can engulf the entire region if not stopped. He said creation of humanitarian corridor is the most important thing.

To another question he said Pakistan wants an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem its capital.

Talking about the Afghan nationals’ repatriation process, the Prime Minister said it is our duty to regulate movement through documentation. He said Pakistan hosted Afghan Refugees for 50 years. He said there are around one million undocumented Afghan Refugees in Pakistan.

To a question about Pak-Indo ties the Prime Minister said we have a core issue of Kashmir with India which is unresolved. He said we need to resolve Kashmir issue according to the UNSC resolutions.
