Organization of Islamic Cooperation has reiterated its call on the international community to honour resolution of United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan espousing alienable right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

In a statement in Jeddah, the OIC reaffirmed its support for the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination, and for the final settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

It said that the OIC urges the international community to ensure implementation of these resolutions.

Meanwhile, Indian troops continued violent cordon and search operations in different areas of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today.

The troops during the operations in Rajouri and Poonch districts barged into houses and harassed inmates.

Operations were also conducted in Shopian, Kulgam and Pulwama districts.

On the other hand, Kashmiris, Pakistanis and their allies organized various programmes and events across the European Union countries and the United Kingdom to draw attention of international community towards urgency of settlement of Kashmir dispute.

Rallies and conferences were held in Spain, Italy, Birmingham and London in the UK under the auspices of Tehreek-e-Kashmir.

Speakers on the occasion warned that further delay in addressing the issue could lead to a nuclear catastrophe in the South Asian region.
