Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that there will be no leniency for terrorists, as the complete elimination of their nefarious designs is our religious and political obligation.

He made these remarks while addressing concluding session of the Provincial Apex Committee of the National Action Plan in Quetta today.

The Prime Minister emphasized that terrorists are enemies of the country and that their total eradication is crucial for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. He, however, said that dialogue is necessary with those who believe in the Constitution of Pakistan and the sanctity of the national flag.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also announced a policy regarding the appointment of officers in Balochistan. He said this policy would be implemented in letter and spirit.

Shehbaz Sharif said that half of the officers from the 48th Common Training Program would be posted to Balochistan immediately for a period of one year. The remaining officers from the 48th Common Training Program would serve in Balochistan for six months from their initial deployment and will also serve for a period of one year. He further explained that, after one year, half of the officers from the 49th Common Training Program would be posted to the province for one year. The remaining officers from the 49th Common Training Program would subsequently be sent to Balochistan for one year.

Highlighting the incentives for these officers, Shehbaz Sharif stated that they would receive four air tickets every quarter for their families’ travel. Additionally, these officers would be awarded three extra points in their performance evaluation reports. He expressed hope that this policy would produce long-lasting and favorable results.

The Prime Minister also noted that, in 2010, Balochistan’s share in the NFC was increased twofold. He remarked that Pakistan’s enemies do not want the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and seek to undermine the Pak-China friendship.

Describing the Gwadar port as a vital project for both the country and the province, the Prime Minister instructed that fifty percent of the public sector imports of the country be made through Gwadar.
