On the occasion of the anniversary of Radio Pakistan Sargodha, a special literary session was held to highlight the performance and contributions of the renowned literary program “Adab Nama.” Distinguished poet and writer Mumtaz Arif shared his views, while young poets presented their poetry and expressed their opinions about the significance and effectiveness of the program.
In the first segment of the program, young poets Anees-ur-Rehman, Abdullah Hashmi, Kashif Ali, and Khalid Chishti presented their ghazals and received appreciation from the audience.
During the interval, eminent writer Mumtaz Arif spoke about the literary program Adab Nama broadcast by Radio Pakistan. He said that the program has become a remarkable and influential literary platform due to the literary vision, dedication, and hard work of Munazza Anwar Goindi. He noted that the tradition of holding a Tarhi Mushaira (themed poetry symposium) was introduced for the first time in the history of Radio Pakistan, and every episode of the program has maintained a unique and impressive standard.
He further stated that on national festivals and other special occasions, Munazza Anwar Goindi organized literary gatherings with excellent hosting and presentation skills. The guests invited to the program were leading figures in their respective fields, and their discussions opened new avenues of thought for listeners.
Mumtaz Arif added that he has benefited from the program not only as a regular listener but also through its visual presentations. He openly acknowledged that he learned a great deal through Adab Nama, as every guest was an expert in their field. He also praised Munazza Goindi’s insightful commentary and outstanding presentation style, which consistently enhanced the appeal and brilliance of the program.
He described Adab Nama as a flagship program of Radio Pakistan Sargodha and said that it is a source of pride for the institution.
The second session of the literary gathering then commenced, during which the young poets presented their poems and ghazals.
Speaking on the occasion, Anees-ur-Rehman said that he first participated in the program alongside Usama Munir, and despite the passage of several years, the program’s impact remains strong and has, in fact, grown even greater. He attributed this success to Munazza Goindi’s commitment and effective performance.
Abdullah Ali Hashmi remarked that Munazza Goindi’s program represents a bright chapter in the literary and intellectual history of Sargodha. He stated that when compared with literary programs produced at the national level, Adab Nama stands on an equal footing in terms of quality and influence. He added that young writers and poets consider themselves fortunate that Munazza Goindi has paved the way for their literary growth and expression.
Kashif Ali said that he has participated in the program many times and always feels encouraged and satisfied because it provides young poets with a platform to express themselves freely and present their work. He described this tradition of Radio Pakistan Sargodha as highly commendable.
Khalid Chishti stated that he was participating in the program for the second time and that the experience was so positive and memorable that he looks forward to attending again in the future.
