Pakistan secured the bronze medal at the Under-18 Asia Cup 2026 after defeating Malaysia 3-0 in the third-place playoff match of the tournament organized by the Asian Hockey Federation.

The tournament, held in Kakamigahara, Japan, from May 29 to June 6, concluded with Pakistan’s U-18 team delivering an impressive performance against Malaysia. The Green Shirts maintained complete control throughout the match and denied their opponents any scoring opportunities.

Pakistan opened the scoring in the early stages of the match when Uzair Ahmed converted a penalty corner. The lead was doubled in the 23rd minute through a penalty stroke converted by Asam Haider. Adeel sealed the victory with Pakistan’s third goal in the closing moments of the game.

Malaysia struggled to break through Pakistan’s disciplined defense and failed to score throughout the regulation time.

For his outstanding performance, Adeel was named Player of the Match.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the national U-18 team on securing third place and winning the bronze medal. He praised the players and team management for their efforts and expressed confidence that these young athletes would continue to elevate Pakistan hockey on the international stage and bring further honors to the country in the future.
