The Rawalpindi Division Basketball Association (RDBA) has finalized a 16-member squad to represent the division in the Commissioner Cup Basketball Championship, scheduled to be held in Faisalabad from July 24 to 28, 2026.
The team was selected following two days of trials organized by the RDBA on July 15 and 16 at Lalkurti, Rawalpindi. The selection process was supervised by the association’s selection committee and attended by Malik Muhammad Riaz, National Basketball Coach, along with a large number of basketball enthusiasts.
The selected players are Hamad, Hamza, Zeeshan, Noor-uz-Zaman, Sheraz, Moheed, Bilal, Hain Adnan, Muhammad Khubaid, Nain Shah, Yazdan, Haseeb, Haider, Aayan Abbasi, Imran, and Zakaullah.
RDBA President Imtiaz Rafi Butt said a training camp for the selected players will begin in Rawalpindi on July 17 and continue until the team’s departure for Faisalabad. The camp will be conducted under the supervision of qualified coaches, and all selected players have been instructed to report immediately.
Speaking to the media, Imtiaz Rafi Butt said the Commissioner Cup aims to promote basketball across Punjab, with teams from all divisions competing for top honors. He added that the championship will strengthen inter-divisional competition and contribute to the continued development and growth of basketball in the province.
