Children and young people are the true assets of any nation. When they are provided with education along with training in discipline, character building, community service, self-confidence and leadership skills, they become a strong foundation for the future of society. Scouting is a comprehensive form of training that not only develops children’s physical and mental abilities but also teaches them to remain steadfast in difficult circumstances, help others and fulfill their collective responsibilities.
Recently, at the annual Provincial Scout Training Camp of the Punjab Boy Scouts Association held at Ghora Gali, Murree, talented young scouts from Government Elementary School Sidha and Government Elementary School Jorianwala, Noorpur Thal, District Khushab, demonstrated outstanding performance and brought great honour to the district.
The young scouts displayed remarkable talent, hard work, discipline and excellent training in various competitions held at the provincial level. Their participation in seven different competitions and securing prominent positions in six of them is a remarkable achievement. Their honours included four first positions and two third positions. In recognition of their outstanding overall performance, District Khushab also won the Overall Best Performance Shield.
This remarkable achievement clearly demonstrates that when children are provided with proper guidance, training and opportunities in educational institutions, they can excel not only at the provincial level but also at the national level.
Behind these achievements were the tireless efforts, continuous training, discipline and competitive spirit of the young scouts, as well as the dedication of their teachers, scout leaders and district scouting administration. District Scout Commissioner Khushab Muhammad Isa Lali, Deputy District Scout Commissioner Faiz-ul-Hassan Malik, Assistant Scout Commissioner Noorpur Thal Zaheer Abbas Malik and District Scout Secretary Muhammad Khalid Rahdari played an admirable role in promoting scouting and providing effective training to the children.
Similarly, Muhammad Sufyan, Headmaster of Government Elementary School Sidha; Safeer Raza, Headmaster of Government Elementary School Jorianwala; Scout Leader Hafiz Faheem-ur-Rehman; Deputy Scout Leaders Shahadat Hussain and Ghulam Muhammad, along with all other teachers and supporting staff, deserve special appreciation. Their sincere guidance and hard work played a vital role in bringing out the hidden potential of the young scouts.
Muhammad Fazil Secures First Position in Provincial Qiraat Competition
Another proud achievement for District Khushab came during the same provincial scout camp when Muhammad Fazil, a talented student of Government Elementary School Zafarabad, Rangpur Baghour, District Khushab, secured first position at the provincial level in the Qiraat competition.
The outstanding performance of students from different government educational institutions of District Khushab on the same provincial platform is highly encouraging for the district’s educational landscape. CEO Education Khushab Muhammad Isa Lali, DEO Elementary Schools Faiz-ul-Hassan Malik, Deputy DEO Zaheer Abbas Bhatti, AEO Malik Muhammad Imtiaz Naseem, Headmaster Malik Abid Iqbal, and all the teachers and staff of the institution were also congratulated on Muhammad Fazil’s remarkable success.
There is a need to ensure that such achievements are not limited to a few days of celebration. Scouting, sports, speech competitions, Qiraat, Naat, academic and literary activities, and other co-curricular programmes should be made a permanent part of educational institutions. A child’s personality cannot be developed through textbooks alone; children must also be given opportunities to learn through practical activities, competitions, experience, discipline and teamwork.
The young sons of District Khushab have proved that there is no shortage of talent in the region. What is needed is to identify this talent, polish it and provide children with suitable platforms to demonstrate their abilities. The flag of success raised at Ghora Gali, Murree, is a symbol of the collective efforts of the teachers, scout leaders, educational administrators, parents and these talented young children.
Academic, social, literary, educational and journalistic circles have extended their heartfelt congratulations to the successful students, their parents, teachers, scout leaders and institutional administrations. It is hoped that these young scouts and talented students will continue their journey of success with the same dedication, hard work and enthusiasm, bringing even greater honour to District Khushab, Punjab and Pakistan.
This is not merely a victory of trophies and positions; it is a triumph of the belief that when children are given hard work, training and opportunities, they have the ability to make history.
