Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada Zaheer A Janjua visited Winnipeg, capital of the Canadian province of Manitoba, to hold a series of meetings with the state ministers, city mayor, government officials and representatives of the Pakistani diaspora.

During the two-day visit, the High Commissioner held separate meetings with Jon Reyes, Minister of Labour and Immigration, and Obby Khan, Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage.

Issues such as the need to enhance bilateral trade, export of manpower, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Canada were discussed. 

The High Commissioner also visited Winnipeg City Hall and held an interactive session with Mayor Scott Gillingham, Deputy Mayor Janice Lukes and Councillor Markus Chambers.
