Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted flash floods, landslides and urban flooding this summer.

The MET office briefed this at a National Monsoon Coordination Conference held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik in the chair.

Forecasting the weather outlook for next three months, the MET office said that there is a possibility of extreme weather events in the summer of this year, which could lead to riverine floods, flash flooding, landslides, and urban flooding.

The Chairman urged provincial authorities to coordinate with local NGOs and humanitarian organizations to maximize outreach to local communities.
