
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has emphasized the importance of a multifaceted approach combining health initiatives and awareness campaigns to address the growing population challenge.
Speaking at Pakistan Population Summit in Islamabad today, he stressed that raising awareness is a collective responsibility, involving all segments of society including religious scholars, government, health institutions, civil society and the media.
Describing the rapid population growth as a critical issue, the Information Minister pointed out its devastating consequences, including high infant mortality rates.
The Information Minister noted that religion is not an impediment in addressing this issue. He said that religion highlights the rights of mothers and children, as well as the responsibilities of husband, while also advocates for balance in life.
