Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan says the Assembly is a sacred institution for democratic forces and its security cannot be compromised.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Monday, he criticized PTI members for repeatedly disrupting proceedings and said that respect for the Assembly cannot be expected from those who disregard even holy places like Makkah and Madina.
He noted that a Parliamentary Committee has submitted its report on the recent incident during the visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, which will be forwarded to law enforcement agencies.
Despite clear instructions, armed convicts attempted to accompany the Chief Minister, leading to a clash with security staff at the gate.
