President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed profound grief over the tragic fire incident in Karachi.
In their separate statements, they extended their condolences over the loss of precious lives and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims.
The President and Prime Minister directed the Sindh government and authorities concerned to provide immediate and comprehensive assistance to the affected individuals and traders.
They emphasized that every effort should be made to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of firefighter Furqan Ali, who lost his life while performing rescue operations during a fire incident at the Gul Plaza in Karachi.
In a statement, he said Furqan Ali’s professional bravery, dedication, and sense of duty are a bright example of public service. He also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and said that the nation will always remember the sacrifices of its brave sons.
The President emphasized the need to make fire safety and emergency response systems more effective to prevent such tragic incidents in future.
He directed the Sindh Government to conduct a comprehensive review of safety arrangements in commercial and residential buildings across the province, including Karachi.
