Rs55 Billion Sewerage Projects Underway Across Sargodha Division, Major Areas to Be Cleared by May

Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali has stated that sewerage projects worth approximately Rs55 billion are progressing rapidly across the division, which will significantly reduce long-standing drainage issues.

Speaking to traders during his visit to the Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said that work on a special development project worth Rs14 billion is also underway in Sargodha city. A deadline has been set to clear major areas by May.

The Commissioner said that providing public relief during the holy month of Ramadan is the government’s top priority. Ration cards are being delivered to deserving families at their doorsteps, while facilitation bazaars have been made fully operational. With the support of philanthropists, 42 “Nigehban Dastarkhwan” (free meal centers) are being established across the four districts of the division.

He warned that violations of officially notified prices will not be tolerated. In case of non-compliance, shops may be sealed, fines imposed, and FIRs registered. Price magistrates have been activated to ensure strict implementation of the prescribed rates.

Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperation with the administration. On the occasion, the Commissioner also planted a sapling in the green belt.
