Govt to establish dashboard to monitor fuel supply: Pervaiz

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik held a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi today.

They discussed the energy supply situation in the country and rising global oil prices due to regional situation.

During the meeting, emergency fuel conservation measures and ensuring availability of petroleum products across the country came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that to keep wheels of the national economy moving is the government’s priority.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said the federal government is closely monitoring global energy markets and preparing alternative plans to manage the financial impact of rising oil prices.

He said that the country’s monthly oil import bill can increase by about 600 million dollars if prices continue to rise.

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik informed that three oil shipments are expected to reach Pakistan tomorrow.

He said that a joint dashboard with provinces will be established to monitor fuel reserves and hoarding at petrol pumps.

The meeting agreed to enhance coordination between the federation and provinces to prevent hoarding and manage the evolving energy situation.
