Condolence Reference Held in Sargodha to Pay Tribute to Prof. Dr. Haroon-ur-Rashid Tabassum

A dignified condolence reference was organized by the Sargodha Writers Club, in collaboration with the Dawn Grammar Group of Schools Sargodha, to pay tribute to the academic and literary services of the late Professor Dr. Haroon-ur-Rashid Tabassum, a distinguished teacher of Urdu language and literature, renowned writer, poet, and expert on Iqbal studies.

The ceremony was presided over by the well-known educationist Professor Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal, while the special guests included Professor Dr. Naseem Abbas, Professor Dr. Samira Ejaz, and Professor Dr. Tariq Habib, who paid rich tribute to Dr. Tabassum in their speeches.

During the event, Mumtaz Arif, Professor Yousaf Khalid, Dr. Asif Raza, Najma Mansoor, Qazi Iftikhar Ahmed, Dr. Samina Gul, Dr. Babar Javed, Muhammad Ali Tabassum, Younis Khamosh, and Shamshad Hussain Shahid highlighted various aspects of Dr. Tabassum’s personality and literary contributions.
The speakers stated that Dr. Haroon-ur-Rashid Tabassum had dedicated his entire life to the promotion of knowledge and literature and to the understanding and interpretation of Iqbal studies. They said that with his passing, Urdu literature has lost a true patriot and a great scholar.

On this occasion, Mumtaz Arif, the Patron-in-Chief of the Sargodha Writers Club, announced the appointment of Najma Mansoor as the Senior Vice President of the club, which was unanimously supported by the participants.

The proceedings of the ceremony were conducted by Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Shirazi. At the end of the event, Zulfiqar Ahsan, General Secretary of the Sargodha Writers Club, and Iftikhar Ahmed Awan, Director of the Dawn Grammar Group, thanked the guests and reaffirmed their commitment to continue the academic mission of Dr. Haroon-ur-Rashid Tabassum.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the elevation of the departed soul and heartfelt tributes were paid to his remarkable services.
