
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says adequate stocks of petroleum products are available in the country due to the government’s timely decisions.
He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad today regarding enforcement of austerity and relief measures, as well as the conservation and management of petroleum reserves in view of the emerging situation in the region.
The Prime Minister said consultations are continuing on additional measures to provide further relief to the people in light of the evolving international situation.
He said the committee, constituted to ensure economic stability, has taken timely decisions, which have helped maintain a continuous supply of oil for the public.
The Prime Minister emphasized that economic stability and relief for the public remain the government’s top priorities.
Shehbaz Sharif further said the government is fully prepared to deal with any situation arising from the ongoing global tensions.
He also directed petroleum distribution companies to ensure the sale of petroleum products at government-fixed rates and to maintain transparency in this regard.
During the briefing, the Prime Minister was informed about the country’s existing oil reserves, imports of petroleum products to meet fuel demand, and measures being taken to provide relief to the public in the prevailing global situation.
The meeting was told that the government is continuously monitoring the sale of petroleum products at fixed prices.
The meeting was further apprised that a feature has been added to the Pak App, enabling consumers to report the non-availability of petroleum products or overcharging anywhere in the country. The government will take immediate action on such complaints.
