
A key meeting was held in the conference hall under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khushab, Abdullah Khan, to review measures for controlling the prices of essential food items and to assess the daily performance of price control magistrates.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Khushab, Ghazala Kanwal, Assistant Commissioner Khushab, Chaudhry Ziaullah, District Incharge Para Force Noor Muhammad, DEO Industries Muhammad Abdullah, Secretary Market Committee Shahbaz Waraich, along with officers from other relevant departments. Furthermore, Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates from all four tehsils participated in the meeting via video link.
Addressing the meeting, ADC (Revenue) Abdullah Khan directed price control magistrates to remain active in the field and regularly monitor the prices of ghee, flour, sugar, fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken, gram flour, pulses, milk, and yogurt. He emphasized that shopkeepers involved in overcharging should be fined, and FIRs should be registered against them where necessary.
He further instructed that price lists must be prominently displayed at shops and strict compliance must be ensured. He stated that continuous monitoring of market prices would be carried out and no one would be allowed to exploit the public.
Abdullah Khan also directed District Incharge Para Force Noor Muhammad to intensify actions against those violating official price lists. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is committed to ensuring the availability of essential items at prescribed rates, and no negligence or laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the ADC (Revenue) instructed Assistant Commissioners of all four tehsils to compile complete and accurate data of petrol pumps across the district. He also ordered strict action against illegal businesses and profiteers without discrimination.
