Islamabad: Political leader Hanif Abbasi has welcomed the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s initiative to provide a Rs6 billion subsidy to Pakistan Railways, calling it a significant relief for passengers and freight transporters amid soaring global oil, petrol, and diesel prices.
Abbasi highlighted that the subsidy, effective until June 30, will ensure that transportation costs and passenger train fares remain unchanged, protecting ordinary commuters from the financial burden of the ongoing fuel crisis.
He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for taking steps to support the people who rely on Pakistan Railways, emphasizing that such measures demonstrate care for the public during challenging times.
The announcement comes as Pakistan faces rising fuel costs, impacting both passenger travel and freight transport. With this relief, the government aims to maintain affordable and uninterrupted rail services for citizens across the country.
