US Vice President JD Vance has said that Pakistan played a constructive role in the peace talks with Iran.
Briefing the media in Islamabad, J.D. Vance appreciated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for hosting talks in an incredible way.
He said whatever shortcomings of the negotiation, it wasn’t because of the Pakistanis who did an amazing job.
JD Vance said we are leaving a best, easy and final proposal for Iran and will see whether Iran accepts it or not.
He said the U.S. needs a firmer commitment that Iran will not develop a nuclear weapon in order to reach an agreement.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also released a statement after the talks concluded, indicating they had come into the talks with an open mind.
In a post on social media, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei described the talks as intensive, but said the success of negotiations depends on the seriousness and good faith of the opposing side.
