On the special directives of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha Region Muhammad Shehzad Asif Khan, a one-day training workshop was organized to enhance the professional skills of police officers.
The workshop was held in the conference room of the RPO Office and focused on the legal aspects and implementation of the “Punjab Control of Narcotics Substances Act 2025.” Senior Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and investigation officers dealing with narcotics cases from all districts of the Sargodha Region participated in the training session.

Senior judges and prosecutors also attended the workshop. Participants were briefed on eliminating legal loopholes in narcotics investigations and on preparing strong, evidence-based challans. Emphasis was placed on how effective evidence collection and proper legal documentation can help ensure strict punishment for drug traffickers in courts.

Training was also provided on improving the registration and investigation process of cases under the new rules and regulations.

While addressing the workshop, RPO Sargodha Muhammad Shehzad Asif Khan stated that the eradication of the drug menace is among the top priorities of the police. He said it is both a professional and moral responsibility to ensure that investigations are conducted in a transparent and strong manner so that no drug trafficker can escape the grip of the law. He urged investigation officers to perform their duties diligently so that society can be rid of this social evil.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants raised questions regarding the new Act, which were answered in detail by the experts.
