Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber, chaired an important meeting in the conference hall to review the wheat procurement target for the year 2026. During the meeting, a detailed assessment of the wheat procurement campaign and the assigned targets was conducted.
District Food Controller Khushab, Chaudhry Muzammil, briefed the participants about the wheat procurement drive and informed them that a target of 80,000 wheat bags had been set for District Khushab. He further stated that, so far, 4,000 wheat bags had been delivered to the government warehouses from across the district.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber assigned important tasks to Assistant Commissioner Khushab Chaudhry Ziaullah, the Para Force Incharge, and the District Food Controller to ensure the achievement of the wheat procurement target. He directed the officials to strictly prevent the smuggling of wheat under the district monitoring mechanism.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that, in accordance with the directions of the Government of Punjab, wheat would be purchased from farmers, grain markets, and other sources at the rate of Rs. 3,500 per maund to ensure the achievement of the procurement target in full during the current year 2026.
Addressing the meeting, he further emphasized that the wheat procurement target must be completed before the end of the season. He also assured the concerned departments of full cooperation and support from the district administration.
