A week-long special anti-polio drive will commence in seventy-nine selected districts across the country from tomorrow.
According to National Emergency Operations Centre, approximately nineteen million children below the age of five years will be administered anti-polio drops during the campaign which will culminate on 24th of this month.
In Punjab, nearly six point one nine million children will be vaccinated in ten selected districts against this crippling disease.
In Sindh, approximately five point seven nine million children will be administered anti-polio drops in twenty selected districts.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four point six one million children below the age of five years will be given anti-polio drops in twenty-three districts.
In Balochistan, about one point nine nine million children will be administered the vaccine in twenty five selected districts during the campaign, while in the federal capital, around four hundred fifty thousand children will be given anti-polio drops during the week long campaign.
The government has made foolproof security arrangements for the polio teams, visiting door to door to administer the anti-polio drops.
