A meeting to review the wheat procurement target was held in the Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the wheat procurement target set for the year 2026. District Food Controller Khushab, Chaudhry Muzammal, briefed the participants on the wheat procurement campaign and its targets. He informed the meeting that a target of 80,000 wheat bags has been set for District Khushab. Efforts are being made to ensure smooth transportation and access of wheat from across the district to government storage facilities.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber assigned important tasks to ADC Revenue Abdullah Khan, Assistant Commissioner Khushab Chaudhry Ziaullah, the Para Force In-Charge, and the District Food Controller to ensure the achievement of the procurement target. He directed the concerned officials to prevent the smuggling of wheat under the prevailing district-level regulations and restrictions.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that, in accordance with the directives of the Government of Punjab, wheat will be purchased during the 2026 procurement campaign from farmers, grain markets, and other sources at the rate of Rs. 3,500 per maund. He further directed all relevant departments to ensure the achievement of 100 percent of the wheat procurement target through effective coordination and implementation of government policies.
