Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review the Fuel Subsidy Scheme.

He took stock of the relief being provided to public transport operators, motorcycle owners, and farmers to mitigate the impact of higher fuel prices due to regional tensions and war-related disruptions.

The meeting reviewed implementation progress, including transparency, accountability, and coordination with provincial governments.

It was informed that four tranches have already been disbursed over the past two months on a biweekly basis.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the overall progress and directed continued coordination and strengthened accountability to ensure maximum benefit reaches the intended beneficiaries.

It was decided that the 5th and 6th tranches of the scheme will be disbursed during this month as part of the ongoing rollout.
