On the directions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, an important meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order was held in Sargodha to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee, Khawaja Salman Rafique, and Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin. Provincial Ministers Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth and Bilal Akbar Khan also accompanied them.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Auqaf Dr. Ahsan Bhutta, Additional IG CTD Wasim Ahmad Sial, Additional IG Imran Arshad, DIG Sajjad Ali Khan Manj, and Chief Coordinator PFTIC Brigadier Asjad Ali.
Regional Police Officer Muhammad Shehzad Asif Khan and Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali briefed the participants on the security and administrative arrangements.
Additional Secretary Home Asma Ejaz Cheema, Additional Secretary Abdul Rauf, along with all Deputy Commissioners and District Police Officers of the Sargodha Division, were also present.
The meeting was informed that the district administration, police, health department, Civil Defence, and Rescue services are fully prepared to perform their duties during Muharram-ul-Haram. It was further stated that strict implementation of the rules and regulations issued by the Home Department would be ensured.
Officials also informed the meeting that all activities and the overall security situation would be monitored through Safe City cameras. Furthermore, the enforcement of Section 144, prohibiting the operation of drones across the province, will be strictly implemented during the holy month.
