Pakistan and Iran have agreed to strengthen road and rail links and activate Joint Transport Committee to boost trade.
An understanding to this effect came at a meeting between Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan and Iranian Minister for Transport Farzaneh Sadegh in Islamabad.
Abdul Aleem Khan noted that robust land connectivity is vital to unlocking immense trade opportunities between the two countries. He assured the Iranian delegation that transport-related bottlenecks would be resolved on a priority basis.
The Iranian Transport Minister expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in facilitating the peace agreement.
