Karachi: The Pak–China Friendship Ju-Jitsu Cup 2026, organized by the Sindh Ju-Jitsu Association in collaboration with the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, the Directorate of Sports, the Directorate of Youth Affairs, and Sindh Sports Club, was successfully held at Sindh Sports Club, Nazimabad, Karachi.
The championship brought together approximately 150 athletes, coaches, and officials representing 14 leading Ju-Jitsu clubs from Karachi, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Throughout the competition, participants displayed exceptional technical excellence, outstanding sportsmanship, discipline, and professional skill, earning widespread appreciation from spectators and sports enthusiasts.
The event was graced by Dr. Asad Ishaque, Director of Sports, Government of Sindh, and Syed Muhammad Habibullah, Director of Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh, as the Chief Guests. In their addresses, they commended the Sindh Ju-Jitsu Association for its outstanding organizational efforts and the successful execution of the championship. They emphasized that high-quality sporting events such as this play a vital role in engaging youth in positive activities, promoting a healthy society, strengthening national harmony, and further enhancing the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.
On the occasion, Tariq Ali, President of the Sindh Ju-Jitsu Association and Secretary General of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation, welcomed the distinguished guests, officials, coaches, athletes, and participating teams. He reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to accelerating the development of Ju-Jitsu in Pakistan, nurturing young talent, and organizing competitions that meet international standards, enabling Pakistan to achieve greater recognition in Ju-Jitsu on the global stage.
The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Hajra Nawab (DSO Central), Mr. Muhammad Ali (Acting President, Sindh Judo Association), and renowned actress Ms. Iram Tanveer, who praised the athletes for their remarkable performances and congratulated the organizers on successfully hosting the championship.
During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guests paid tribute to the collective efforts of the Sindh Ju-Jitsu Association, the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, Sindh Sports Club, and the entire organizing team. They noted that inter-provincial and international sporting events of this nature not only provide an excellent platform for young athletes to showcase their talent but also contribute significantly to national unity, the promotion of sports, and the advancement of martial arts standards in Pakistan.
In his closing remarks, Tariq Ali expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of Sindh, the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, the Directorate of Sports, the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Sindh Sports Club, all distinguished guests, the 14 participating clubs from across Pakistan, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, media representatives, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event. He reiterated that the Sindh Ju-Jitsu Association remains committed to organizing larger national and international competitions in the future to provide greater opportunities for young athletes, promote the sport of Ju-Jitsu throughout Pakistan, and further strengthen sports cooperation and friendship between Pakistan and China.
