Abu Dhabi: Pakistan continued its outstanding performance on the second day of the 2026 World Ju-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi, as young athletes Muhammad Yousaf Ali and Umar Yasin secured the Bronze Medal in the Under-21 Men’s Duo category after an impressive performance.
Former 2024 Asian Under-18 Ju-Jitsu Champions Muhammad Yousaf Ali and Umar Yasin once again demonstrated their exceptional talent, technical skills, and competitive strength by securing a place on the international podium. Their achievement reflects their continuous development and highlights Pakistan’s strong potential and bright future in international Ju-Jitsu.
With this achievement, Pakistan’s medal tally at the World Championship has reached two Gold and two Bronze medals. Earlier, Abu Huraira and Muhammad Ammar created history by winning two Gold Medals in the Masters Duo and Duo Show categories.
Pakistan’s team has once again proved its ability to compete at the highest level of international Ju-Jitsu and maintain a strong presence on the global podium.
Chairman of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF), Khalil Ahmed Khan, congratulated the national athletes on their outstanding achievement and stated that these successes are a clear reflection of the continuous growth of Ju-Jitsu in Pakistan, along with the hard work, talent, and determination of the national athletes. He added that, besides the excellent performances of the athletes, the national coaches and officials have also played an important role in the team’s success. He expressed hope that the national team will continue its strong performances in upcoming competitions and win more medals for Pakistan.
Secretary General of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF), Tariq Ali, said that Pakistan’s consistent success at the World Championship is a matter of great pride for the national Ju-Jitsu community. He stated that these achievements are the result of the athletes’ dedication, effective coaching, and strategic planning by the team management. He added that the Federation will continue its efforts for the development of young athletes, participation in international competitions, and further improvement of technical standards.
He further said that the recent performance of the national team is clear evidence that Pakistani athletes have the capability to achieve remarkable success at the international level against the world’s best competitors. He appreciated and paid tribute to the national coaches, athletes, referees, and team officials for their hard work and valuable services.
More Pakistani athletes will be in action in the coming days, including Aamir Khan and Umar Shabab, who will represent Pakistan in their respective categories.
The 2026 World Ju-Jitsu Championship is being held from 1–9 August at Mubadala Arena, Abu Dhabi, featuring more than 1,500 athletes from around the world.
