Dr. Muhammad Khan (IR Expert): When India was subjecting Muslims and Sikhs to worst kind of human rights violations, there was not much uproar at the global level. However, international community led by West and America has taken notice of suppression of Christians in India. Manipur state acceded to India in 1949 and it has strong separatist tendencies. Its neighboring states of Mizoram and Assam have also a sizeable portion of people who want to break away from India. Right now, Christians and Muslims are being ethnically cleansed in Manipur. The goons of India are totally backed by the Indian government. These communal riots are being orchestrated by Indian government in order to crush the insurgency in the state.
Abdullah Gul (Security Analyst): It is the agenda of the BJP-led government in India to crush all minorities, including Muslims and Christians. Since when the BJP government came, there have been riots all over the country. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi was once termed the butcher of Gujarat due to his leading role in killing of Muslims. The international community’s silence on suppression of communities in Manipur is amazing. The recent viral videos of humiliation of native women by Hindu extremists give a clear picture of true face of India. It shows that Indian government is backing Hindu extremists to launch attacks against people of various ethnicities in India.
