Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to establish stroke centres in every division of the province.
Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, she was informed that 40 Primary Stroke Centres are currently fully functional across Punjab, while another 17 centres will be operationalised by December.
The meeting was told that the CM Stroke Programme has saved the lives of 336 stroke patients and helped them avoid permanent disability by receiving timely treatment.
The meeting also decided to establish neuro-angiography suites this year at Teaching Hospital Rawalpindi, Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Nishtar-II Multan and Teaching Hospital Sargodha.
