Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s leadership for bad governance and the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past thirteen years.
He was addressing a news conference along with Prime Minister’s Coordinator Ikhtiar Wali Khan and MPA Jalal Khan in Islamabad today.
The Information Minister said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was once a cradle of peace and pride for the nation, but the current provincial government has pushed the region into the Stone Age, depriving citizens of basic facilities and developmental opportunities.
The Minister pointed out that seven hundred billion rupees were given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for counter-terrorism under NFC Award, but the provincial government failed to strengthen the security institutions such as the Counter-Terrorism Department, police force, and forensic laboratories.
He said no safe-city cameras were installed in the erstwhile tribal districts.
Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf is TTP’s ‘B team’ and they do not condemn terrorists.
Speaking on the occasion, Coordinator to the Prime Minister Ikhtiar Wali said corruption is on rise across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said public funds have been used for political and social media campaigns.
He further said that over the past thirteen years, the provincial government had failed to establish a single university or provide basic civic amenities to the masses.
Ikhtiar Wali said the healthcare system in the province is in bad condition, while police personnel are forced to confront terrorists without having modern equipment.
He said the development of erstwhile tribal districts remained severely neglected and provincial government has pushed public toward destruction under the guise of so-called revolution.
Addressing the news conference, Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Jalal Khan said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s leadership failed to play a constructive role in countering terrorism in the province.
He said an anarchic group has been ruling Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the past thirteen years.
Jalal Khan expressed his resolve to rescue the province and its citizens from rampant corruption and administrative failure of the PTI leadership.
