An important meeting of the International Union of Writers (IUW) was held at its Punjab office under the hosting of Punjab President Zohaib Ramzan Bhatti. The meeting focused on organising the union’s annual ceremony, outlining its future strategy, and strengthening its organisational structure across Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by IUW Chairman Zubair Ahmed Ansari, Central President Samina Tahir Butt, Vice President Mian Muhammad Asghar Bhatti, General Secretary Tahir Tabassum Durrani, Punjab Vice President Sajjad Bhandar, Lahore Women’s Wing President Nabeela Akbar, Lahore President Asim Latif Chaudhry, and Lahore General Secretary Hafiz Zubair Ahmed.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on arrangements for the annual ceremony and its timely organisation. On the occasion, Chairman Zubair Ahmed Ansari issued necessary instructions and emphasised that the event should be held as soon as possible. He highlighted the importance of bringing together personalities from literary, journalistic, and creative fields on an effective platform to promote literary activities and expand the organisation’s reach.
Central President Samina Tahir Butt briefed the participants on the organisation’s future plans and announced that the process of establishing and strengthening the union’s organisational units in various districts of Pakistan would be accelerated immediately after the annual ceremony. The meeting also discussed necessary changes to organisational positions, the allocation of new responsibilities, and measures to make the organisational structure more active, effective, and robust.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to making the International Union of Writers a more organised, active, and effective platform through mutual consultation, collective efforts, and a coordinated strategy.
They expressed confidence that these initiatives would encourage writers, journalists, literary figures, and individuals with creative talents across the country while further expanding the union’s scope and strengthening its role in promoting literary and journalistic activities throughout Pakistan.
