Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar chaired an important meeting at the Conference Hall to review arrangements for distributing payment orders among beneficiaries under the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” programme.

The meeting reviewed the procedure for distributing payment orders to successful beneficiaries in the tehsils of Khushab, Quaidabad and Noorpur Thal.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Khurram Hameed, Assistant Commissioner Khushab Ummat-ul-Salam, Assistant Commissioner Quaidabad Ramsha Rehman, and Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Abdul Majid Khan attended the meeting, along with other relevant officials. Assistant Commissioner Noorpur Thal Shazia Rehman participated through a video link.

During the meeting, Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Abdul Majid Khan briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the programme’s progress and informed him that payment orders amounting to Rs. 25,000 per acre were being issued to beneficiaries in Khushab district.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar said that under the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar programme, eligible successful applicants had been allotted up to five acres of agricultural land on lease for a period of 10 years at an annual rate of Rs. 100 per acre.

He termed the provision of financial assistance to beneficiaries for cultivating the allotted land a commendable initiative by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He said the programme aims to create employment opportunities for unemployed individuals, promote the agricultural sector and help deserving families achieve economic self-reliance.

The Deputy Commissioner added that the distribution of payment orders worth Rs. 25,000 per acre as the first instalment would help beneficiaries cultivate their allotted land and improve their financial circumstances.

He directed the assistant commissioners and Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Abdul Majid Khan to complete the survey and verification process thoroughly and ensure that payment orders were distributed transparently, strictly in accordance with merit and established rules and regulations.

He emphasised that all necessary measures must be taken to ensure that government assistance reaches the genuinely deserving beneficiaries.
