DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said Pakistan has a clear strategy to deal with terrorism.

In an interview with Reuters, he said one part of that strategy is to cut all the enablers of terrorism inside Pakistan. He said one of these enablers of terrorism was the incompetent and indifferent government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The DG ISPR said around two hundred intelligence-based operations are conducted daily against terrorists, emphasizing that Pakistan would continue on this path.

Responding to a question, the DG ISPR said the terrorists acting at the behest of their masters have an anti development agenda.

He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have suffered the most from terrorism. He said they are proud and brave people, and that they are a very special part of Pakistani society. He said their primary interest is in security and stability, highlighting that nobody in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is against counter terrorism operations. He said the people of the province have welcomed and are excited that one of the key enablers that was hampering counterterrorism efforts is no more there.
