President Dr Arif Alvi has stressed universities to provide quality education to students as it is the foremost requirement for the development of the country.
Addressing the Convocation ceremony of the Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad on Thursday, he urged the education ministry and Higher Education Commission to support universities in designing the courses and departments in accordance with demand of jobs in the market.
During the ceremony, the president gave away medals to the top position holders and conferred degrees to the successful students in various departments of the university.
A total of 7,738 BS, MS, M. Phil and PhD students were awarded degrees in the convocation.
