The first of its kind three-day provincial level Simulation Exercise (SimEx) organized by National Disaster Management Authority kicked off in Quetta today.

Caretaker Home Minister of Balochistan Captain (Retd) Zubair Jamali inaugurated the multi hazards based Simulation Exercise, which is aimed at enhancing the preparedness and response capacities of key stakeholders of Balochistan during emergencies and disasters.

He appreciated the efforts of NDMA and stressed the need for effective coordination and collaboration among all agencies involved in disaster management.

SimEx consists of six syndicates, each representing PDMA Balochistan and humanitarian agencies in the province.

In the Simulation Exercise, these Syndicates will present scenario-based situation including cyclone, forest fire, floods and earthquakes and to devise response plans according to existing SoPs and guidelines.
