Illegally detained Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Masarrat Aalam Butt, has welcomed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s statement against the Indian Supreme Court’s verdict on Kashmir’s special status and urged the Muslim countries to raise a collective voice for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Masarrat Aalam Butt in a message to the OIC countries from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail warned that continued denial of Kashmiris’ political right by India could endanger peace in South Asia in the same way as it is at stake due to the bleeding Palestine in the Middle East.

He rejected India’s normalcy mantra in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and asked why New Delhi has, converted the territory into an open-air prison.

Hurriyat leaders and organizations in their statements in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to noted liberation leader and founding member of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi, Sofi Muhammad Akbar, on his 36th death anniversary, today.

Sofi Muhammad Akbar had passed away on this day in 1987.

Meanwhile, Indian troops have launched a cordon and search operation in Malti and adjoining areas of Rajouri district.
